Lepus Panthera by KatePfeilschiefter Lepus Panthera by KatePfeilschiefter
Update: I received some good critique from Dan Warren and Dave Rapoza on the Crimson Daggers stream, and reworked the piece. I think I like it better now; the original twist in the body I wanted is still there but more subtle, and the overall action flows much more smoothly. Though it was a bit of a puzzle how to push such long hind legs back in perspective while keeping the length apparent.

You can see the before and after here if interested: [link]

Rabbits look quite vicious when yawning. This is a variant with more pronounced markings than the beasts in the older image --> [link]

Despite the silly pun name, their anatomy is based a bit on goats and horses in addition to the jaguar and jackrabbit.

Crits welcome.

A carnivorour rabbit? Well, considering that whales came from carnivorous sheep, I'd say evolution has thrown wider curveballs.

Jagua, mixed with rabbit would make a very fast and agile animal. I feel sorry for the prey of its native world they won't be getting away easily. I don't have rabbits but I had guinea-pigs, and they do look somewhat vicious when they yawn it must be the bucked teeth. Again awsome creature but I wouldn't want to meet it

Not necessarily with jaguars and jackrabbits specifically. But rabbits and cats.

This definitely has a lot better fluid of movement than the first. I like the subtle changes you did with repositioning the one forepaw and the incisors. Really love the attention to detail on this overall too. The shading and patterns on its body are lovely. :)

Nice fix on the update, it's fortunate that it used with digital work so it's no problem to tweak it. I like this version better.

I looked at the before and after image and I can really, really see the improvement in the edit. I really like this newer and updated version, as the overall action feel does flow better in this. Very neat to see the before and after!

Rabbits do look very vicious when yawning. And they look like they want to rip your throat out when you add jaguar teeth in the mix! Scares the heck out of me! Awesome job!
