Another scruffy dragon bird.

Graphite, gel pen and ink on vellum.

Critique is helpful and welcome.

you are doubtlessly way more advanced than me, but I would advise you to make the neck a bit more voluminous, sice the feathers add a whole lot more volume to the neck than scales would on a dragon...

On most gryphons I usually would, but for this guy in particular, I was imagining him particularly scruffy and scrappy with sparse feather placement. Almost vulture-like.

Lovely Griffon style!

The feather texture makes it seem very hairy in appearance despite it being a range of different sized and thickness of feathers. The ears are curved and erected into a lion-mix style that I would believe a ear to look like when flying fast through the skies without becoming prone to ear infections.
The hooked beak becomes jagged with sharp 'fang' styles creating a more dominate predator/raptor view.
Including the rough tongue and scales suiting for a more reptile look.... The eyes are so beautiful yet frightening- You can tell this is a dangerous creature with much strength.
Last but not least the posture and shape of the head and neck reminds me more of a lizard/dragon appearence rather than a Griffons... but Everything put together gives that Dragon-Griffon look I believe you were going for.

Well done! Bravo I say! The coffee color looks good too, lovely work!
