Dragon Dorsal Musculature by KatePfeilschiefter Dragon Dorsal Musculature by KatePfeilschiefter
Thought I'd share this sketch. Just solidifying how I think this stuff works.

So yes, double traps and double lats, now imagine if there were professional dragon body builders. How freakish would that look...

I've been working out a musculature for a pern dragon so I can sculpt it easier (and any future dragons I decide to sculpt), and I must say that your anatomy diagrams have helped tremendously. I'll definately be referencing them as well when I start to actually sculpt!

Thanks, glad I could help! Just remember though that this itself is inspired by pterosaur, cat and bird musculature. Going to the source is always best when learning

Of course! I've been using lots of pictures of human and other animal musculature as well. Human mainly because I picture pern dragons to have very human-like arms.

It's just helpful to see another artist's take on some things from different angles, especially when I'm having difficulty translating something into a different body shape.
